into the "basement" of the Bais HaMikdash

Exhibit 34a- The Single Gate. Near the right edge of the Southern Wall is a Single Gateway. This was not part of the Bais Hamikdash. It was built by the Crusaders as an entranceway into the "basement" of the Temple. This basement is part of the Bais HaMikdash and is popularly known as
King Solomon's Stables.
