Exhibit 16a- The Portico. In the Bais HaMikdash, surrounding the inner wall of Har HaBayis, and surrounding the inside and outside walls of the "Azarah" courtyard, was a roofed colonnade, called a portico or stoa. The roof was made of wood and it was this roof that was first set afire during the "churban." Later invaders rebuilt the portico
