Exhibit 13b- Dome of the Rock. The Dome of the Rock is an
octagonal building, having eight sides. It was originally built as a
church by the Christian Byzantines during the first quarter of the 7th
century. Octagonal churches were a common Byzantine design. This site was
chosen for a church in order to insult the Jews who, a few years earlier,
had assisted the Persians in their conquest of Eretz Yisroel.

Exhibit 13c- Dome of the Rock. When the Arabs captured Eretz
Yisroel in the middle of the 7th century, they converted
the octagonal church into a Moslem shrine.
