Departure
Tentative departure has been set for Tuesday, July 6th on El Al flight 014 departing from Kennedy Airport at 2:50 P.M. and arriving in Tel Aviv at 8:00 A.M. the next morning,
v'ht. You will receive detailed flight information very shortly. After arriving in Israel and passing through passport control, we will collect your passport and hold it for you until departure from Israel. Each camper will take his suitcase and proceed to the special camp buses waiting outside. We ask you to personally check that your luggage is loaded on the bus. Upon arrival to camp, you will be assigned bunks and rooms. You will then have time to unpack. Time allowing we will be going for a short and refreshing night swim. It is important that you deposit all valuables in the camp safe. You will always be able to get them out before a trip. You’ll probably be exhausted from the long trip, so get a good night’s sleep. You’ll have time to finish unpacking tomorrow.Thursday, July 8th
Yerushalayim
Tour A ~ Kotel, Givat Hatachmoshet, Nebi Samuel, GeulaBuses will leave camp at 10:30 A.M. For the sake of brevity we will omit the places which we’ll be passing on the way and leave it for your future guide to fill in.
As you ride through the beautiful hills on the way to Yerushalayim, we suggest that you listen very carefully to the guide's explanations. There are many interesting stories you'll hear and there is much to learn. Our first stop will be at Sha’ar Ho’ashpot, the closest gate to the Kotel. This will be our first visit to the Kotel, where you will no doubt want to daven and say some tehillim. On our way we will see some archaeological discoveries dating back to the period of both the first and second Baatei Mikdosh. We’ll have a look at the remains of the two arches that once came out from the wall, also known as Robinson’s Arch and Wilson’s Arch.
We will continue back through Sha’ar Ho’ashpot, where we will meet the buses. Then we'll continue to Givat Hatachmoshet (Ammunition Hill) where you will actually be standing on the site of one of the strongest Arab fortifications before the Six-Day War. You can actually walk through the miles of trenches, which were dug in the hill during many years of hard work. You can also see the large ammunition storage houses with their walls pockmarked by bullets and mortar shells. (For more detailed explanations you will have to wait for your guide to give them to you.) Time allowing we will be going to Nebi Samuel where you can climb up a beautiful tower for a magnificent view of the entire area. Incidentally, your guides will also tell you how this former Arab stronghold was captured during the Six-Day War. You will also see the remains of their trenches, which surround this strategic spot. As you climb down the narrow staircase inside you will come to the Kever of one of our greatest Nevi’im - Shmuel Hanavi, where you will no doubt want to say some Tehillim. From here the buses will take us to Geulah, right off Meah She'arim, where they will drop us off for an hour or so of "free time". Each bunk will take a stroll with its counselor through Geulah and Meah Shearim, the most religious section of the entire Yerushalayim. Don't buy your presents yet. It's better to spend more time in the country learning what's what, before rushing out to spend your money.
At 6:45 P.M. all groups must be back at the buses (which will be parked at Hoshea corner Yecheskel St.) which will take us back to the camp, after a most enjoyable day in Yerushalayim. Don't worry if you've missed anything. You can't see all in one day, and we'll be back many more times, before the summer ends. We will head back to Netanya and go straight to the pool for a refreshing swim, and have a poolside cookout (see menu).
Tour B ~ Southern wall excavations, Kotel, Geula
Our first stop in Yerushalayim will be at the famous Gate of the Old City, Sha’ar Ha'ashpot. We will begin by exploring the area around the southern wall excavations. From there we head to the Kotel to daven Mincha. Some free time in Geula will complete a great day

Tour B plus ~ Kalim of Bayit Shlishi, Kotel, Geula
Our first stop in Yerushalayim will be at the famous Gate of the Old City, Sha’ar Yafo. Here we will ascend the ancient wall and walk across to Sha’ar Tzion, where we get our first view of Har Habayit. If unfortunately the Bais Hamikdosh has not yet been rebuilt we shall tear the old shirt which we are wearing. After we descend, we’ll visit an exhibit showing the vessels (some made of gold or silver) being prepared to be used IY"H in the Third Beit Hamikdosh. Then we'll explore the area under the Yeshivat Ha'kotel where they have found many artifacts from the times of the first and second Bet Ha'mikdosh. From there we head to the Kotel to daven Mincha. Some free time in Geulah will complete a great day.

Netanya
Tour A, B, & B plusAfter breakfast we’ll have our regular daily learning groups. After learning groups we’ll have our first morning of sports. At 12:45 we'll head for the pool for a refreshing swim. We'll have a poolside lunch (falafel, corn on the cob, fresh vegetable salad, french-fries and sweet Galill melon). Following lunch we’ll get a short briefing by Rabbi Gottesman who will give us an introduction to our nearby city of Netanya. He will familiarize us with public transportation, the Post Office, Kashrut of the stores, and other details, which we must know. Campers can also choose to go to the beach or Horseback riding after a short browse around town we will return to camp and get prepared for our first wonderful Shabbos at camp.
Make sure to take along some money in case you wish to buy something in town. Campers must always remain with their groups. The #2 bus from the central bus station will take you directly back to camp.
B'nei Brak, Rowing, Amusement Park Tour A
We'll have lunch, go swimming and then head to Bnei B'rak for a visit to the beautiful shul in Shikun Vishnitz. Then we’ll head to the world-famous Ponovitch Yeshiva. After that we’ll head to the Park Haleumi for some rowing or paddle boating. (The bill is on us.) We’ll eat supper at the park, and then go to the Tel Aviv amusement park. It’s not exactly Great Adventures, but nevertheless it will be a change and certainly great fun. Try and see for yourself. The go-carts seem to be the biggest attraction. Make certain you take along enough money (this time you pay), and have a great time. As we head back for camp remember that after we arrive in camp you will have an hour or two to freshen up and prepare for our trip to Massada.
Massada, Yam Hamelach, Ein Gedi
Tour AWe’ll be getting up in the middle of the night in order that we may be able to climb up Massada to see the sunrise and avoid the strong sun and the heat of the day. Go to the dining room, where you’ll find a snack waiting for you and then hop aboard the air-conditioned buses. 3:00 AM departure. Upon arrival at Massada each boy will receive his breakfast bag which he is to take along with him. We’ll climb to the top of Massada from the side where the Romans built their camp 1900 years ago. Hopefully we’ll be up in time to watch a spectacular sunrise over the mountains of Moav (currently Jordan). Then we’ll daven Shacharis in the ruins of the ancient shul, which was used by the defenders of Massada. We'll have breakfast and then you can join one of the tours which will take you step by step through many ruins dating back from the time of Hurdus (King Herod) until the final fall of the fortress, as described by Josephus. Don’t go exploring on your own! Stick to one of the guides, for it’s the only way you’ll really understand what you are seeing. We’ll conclude our stay with a ride down the cable car to where our buses will be waiting. Those courageous enough can hike down the snake path. Good luck! We’ll meet you at the bottom. You’ll be able to buy all the drinks you want (and need) at the bottom, and then we’ll continue onto Yam Hamelach (the Dead Sea) for a swim in it’s salty waters. You don’t have to be much of a swimmer here, since everyone floats quite easily. Be careful not to get any water in your eyes! Wash off the salt at the nearby showers, and then we’ll go to the spring of Ein Gedi, (where Dovid hid from Shaul) for a swim. It is a true oasis in the midst of a vast desert. After the swim we’ll eat lunch. From here it’s back to camp for Ma’ariv, supper and night activities.

Negev Over-Night
Tour B
DAY 1: Nachal Arugot, Har S'dom, Me'arat Hakemach.
The day begins with a ride towards Yam HaMelach on the ancient Roman road. Don't look outside at the sharp turns. We'll head straight to Nachal Arugot, where we'll spend a major portion of the day hiking to the hidden waterfall and bathing and relaxing in it's cool refreshing waters. Make sure to wear your hat, and be equipped with a sufficient amount of water. On the way to our next stop, a salt cave at Har S'dom, we will pass by Lot's wife. (Do you remember her name?) Time allowing we'll tour through Nachal Pratzim, ending with a climb through the famous flour cave. Don't wear your best set of clothing here since they're bound to get covered with the white floury dust. The night will be spent in a magnificent local Kibutz (air -conditioned rooms), where we will get a chance to have a refreshing night swim. Enjoy the crisp fresh air, it is the best in the country!
DAY 2: Air Force Museam, Ein Avdat.
Before leaving make sure to thank the people in charge. Yeshiva boys must always make a kidush Hashem. We'll begin the day with a visit to the nearby air force museum and then we'll head to Ein Avdat. Here we'll hike through the beautiful canyon and see the Ein Mor "spring". Keep your eyes open for ibex. Save your energy for the breathtaking climb out of the canyon using the flimsy ladders. After two wonderful days you will definitely agree that its time to return to camp for some good sleep.
Tour B plus
DAY 1: We'll be heading straight down south and spending the day doing some beautiful and interesting hiking trails in the area. It's extremely important that you come equipped properly for these hikes. The night will be spent in a magnificent local Kibutz, where we will get a chance to have a refreshing night swim. Enjoy the crisp fresh air, it is the best in the country!
DAY 2: We'll begin the day by taking a short tour and learn about life on a kibbutz. Then we'll head to a place where we will rent bicycles and do a biking tour of the Negev. The trail will lead through Nachal Pratzim and other interesting parts of the Negev. After two wonderful days you will definitely agree that its time to return to camp for some good sleep.
Tuesday, JULY 13th

Tour A ~ Madrasa, Kinneret, TeveriawTake out golani museum and put in tel aviv one on other date
We'll start our day off with a refreshing swim in the sparkling blue waters of the Yam Kinneret. You can also rent boats here. After a delicious barbecue on the shores of the kinneret we’ll head to a beautiful water hike through the Madjrasa Jungle. From here we'll head onto Teveryah to the Kevarim of the Rambam and R’ Meir Baal Haness. Then we’ll stroll through the streets of Teveryah.
After a great day of fun and relaxation we’ll head back to camp for Ma’ariv, a delicious dinner and night seder.
Tour B ~ Arbel, Kinneret
The day begins with a refreshing swim in the beautiful blue waters of the Kinneret. From there we'll head to the mountain of Arbel, a beautiful cliff that soars too more than 181 meters above sea level. From the top of its northern cliffs, one can easily see the Golan Heights, the Yam Kinneret and even Mount Hermon. On its southwest stands Mt. Tavor, and the horns of Chittim. Toward its south lies Teverya. Toward its top an ancient shul was discovered. It was here that Niti Ho'arbeli mentioned in Pirkei Avos, once lived. In the face of its cliff is a four-tiered fortress, which was used by the Jews as a hideout during the time of Hordus. Those with lots of courage will certainly want to climb down this steep cliff. Be very careful and always hold on to the special metal bars made for this purpose. It's great fun.
Tour B plus ~ Jilabon, Kinneret
Write something on Jilabon (take from iguide) switch with a longer hike if possible, maybe not if have boats than give b shorter hike (bring boats from camp)

Sunday, July 18th
Chevron - Beit Lechem
Tour A, B, and B plus
Please note this tour will depend on special army permission and full army escort. Should there be any question of safety then other arrangements will be made for a different tour.
We'll start our ride down the Netiv HaLamed Hey, and make our first stop at Gush Etzion. Then we'll continue on to Ma'arat Hamachpela in the city of Chevron. From there we'll head back to Kever Rachel in Beit Lechem. And then its back to camp.
Tour B plus
Tour B plus will take a tour of the Jewish settlement in Kiryat Arba as well as the Avraham Avinu shul in chevron.
Galil 2
Tour A ~ Meron, Ein Zeytim, Tzfat
Buses will depart at 10:00 A.M. We'll head straight up to Meron, to the Kever of Rebbi Shimon bar Yochai. Tens of thousands of people flock here annually on Lag Ba’omer to commemorate his Yahrzeit. The beautiful mountains in the back contain the Tombs of Beit Shamai and Beit Hillel. Also the ruins of an ancient shul from the time of the second Beit Hamikdosh can be found here. From here we’ll head to Ein Zeitim, where you can have lots of fun climbing and swinging about on the exercise bars and ropes. After lunch we’ll head to the city of Tzfat, one of the holiest cities in the entire world. We’ll see the shul of the Ari Hakadosh, the Yosef Ka’aro Shule and the Mikveh of the Arizal. After a dip in the Mikveh and a quick walk through the ancient cemetery, where many well-known Tzaddikim are buried, we’ll head back for camp. (Kohanim will have a different tour through the Artist colony and the upper part of the city.)
Tour B - Acco, Meggido
The first stop of the day will be in the city of Acco. Here we will see and learn about the rich history of the city by watching a movie in the ancient underground vaults built by the crusaders. We will tour the ancient Crusader City and then head over to the mountain of Meggido, where we will take a short hike and learn about the many stories from Tenach that took place here.
Tour B plus ~ Beit Sheorim and other holy sites.
The Galil is full of many famous holy sites of Tanayim and Amoroyim. Since it is the nine days and we cannot go swimming, we will spend the time going to as many holy sites as time will allow. Some of the holy sites we plan to visit are the burial places of Rebbi Yehudah Ha'nasi and Rabbon Gamliel in Bet Sheorim. We will try to stop at the kever of Rebbi Yehudah ben Illaei in Ein Zaysim, Benoyahu ben Yehodah and Abba Shaul in Birah, Nacum Ish Gam Zu , Rebbi Binyamin Hatzaddik and the cave of Shem and Ever in T'zfas. Time allowing we will also have some free time to shop in T'zfas.
Tisha B'av at the Kotel

We will be leaving to the Kotel at 1:00 PM and arrive there to Daven Mincha. Hopefully we will be back at camp by 6:00 PM for a special program on Tisha B'av, followed by Ma'ariv, and a delicious supper.
Important Notice
Because of the way the schedule works out this year and we leave to Yerushalayim the day after Tisha B'av, we will have no time to do laundry before Sunday. It is therefore very important that you take along a three-week supply of clothing. Make sure you have enough clean laundry to last you until after we come back from the Golan!
Friday ~ Sunday, July 23rd ~ July 25th
3 Day Weekend in Yerushalayim
Day 1 Friday: We will be going for a refreshing morning swim before leaving on our three-day weekend. After an early morning lunch we'll leave to the Old City of Yerushalayim and arrive at Yeshivat Hakotel where we'll be staying for Shabbat. After being assigned rooms, we’ll have some free time in the Old City and get ready for Shabbat. Under no circumstances may anyone walk into the Arab sector of the city. We’ll all meet at the Kotel at 6:00 P.M. for Mincha and Kabbalat Shabbat. We’ll meet at the right hand side of the men's section. Following Ma’ariv we will return to the Yeshiva for a delicious Shabbat seuda and sing some lively zemirot. Then we’ll walk back to the Kotel for an oneg and stories.
Day 2: Shabbat: Shacharit at the Kotel at 9:00 A.M. Followed by Kiddush and Seudas Shabbat. After learning classes you’ll have a chance to rest up. Oneg at 4:00 P.M., followed by a walking tour around the Jewish quarter. Mincha at the Kotel at 6:00 P.M. followed by Seuda Sh’lishit and Ma'ariv. After Havdalah, we will have a beautiful concert and kumzitz at the Yeshivah.
Tour A ~ Old City, Yad Vashem, Mevor Betar
Pack up all your things and make sure your room is perfectly clean. Don't leave anything behind! After some free time in the Old City We'll meet the buses at Sha'ar Tzion and we'll make our first stop at Yad V'shem. This is a museum dedicated to the 6 million Jews that died in the holocaust. We will eat lunch there and then head over to Mevo Betar, a beautiful park with some alpine slides and bumper boats. From there we will head to camp for a delicious supper and refreshing night swim.
Tour B ~ Old City, Bar Kachva caves
After some free time in the old city we'll head over to the Bar-Kochvah caves at Moshav Amatzia. We'll have a great time climbing and crawling through them. We’ll also explore a few other caves in the Beit Guvrin area or if possible we will participate in an archeological dig in the area. Either way you will benefit from a thrilling experience! From there we will head to camp for a delicious supper and refreshing night swim.
Tour B plus ~ Old City, Bibical Zoo
After some free time in the old city we'll head over to the new Bibical Zoo. You will find this zoo fascinating and informative. From there we will head to camp for a delicious supper and refreshing night swim.
Tuesday & Wednesday, July 27th and 28th
Galil 3 - Two day Overnight
Tour A ~ Chermon, Chatzbani, Tel-Dan, Golan Heights
DAY 1: This trip will certainly be one of the greatest of the summer. We’ll start by going up to the Chermon Mountains (the northern tip of Israel), from where we’ll take a chair lift ride, way up to the top. On a clear day one gets a view of Damascus from here. After lunch we’ll drive down to the Chatzbani River (one of the sources of the Jordan River) where we’ll go tubing down the river. It’s real great fun! If you wear glasses then make sure you tie them, so you don't loose them in the water. Then we'll head to our beautiful campsite on the shores of the Kinneret where you'll be assigned your rooms for the night. We'll have a delicious cookout on the shores of the Kinneret.
DAY 2: Wakeup 6:30 A.M. Pack up everything and make sure that you don’t leave anything behind. After Davening and a delicious Breakfast, we'll take a refreshing swim in the blue waters of the Kinneret. Then we'll head to Tel Dan for a great hike through the gorgeous nature trails. After a barbecue lunch we'll head for Mayan Baruch for a swim in it's ice cold waters. Then we'll ride up the Golan Heights and explore some of the former Syrian bunkers.
Tour B ~ Kayaking, upper and lower Banias, Nachal Kziv
DAY 1:
The day begins Kayaking down the Jordan River. Make sure to hold on tight when you get to the largest rapid at the end. This trip is one of the major attractions of the summer. If you wear glasses, bring along some string to tie them on while going down the river. After Lunch we'll head over to the Banias and take an exciting hike from the upper to the lower waters where we'll come to a magnificent waterfall. The pools' source is a spring created from melting snow of the Chermon, which filters through the mountain's limestone rock and bursts out of a crack in the stone. On the side of the upper Banias they have uncovered a multitude of ancient Roman buildings. Then we'll head to our beautiful campsite on the shores of the Kinneret where you'll be assigned your air-conditioned rooms for the night. We'll have a delicious cookout on the shores of the Kinneret.Day 2: Wakeup 6:30 A.M. Pack up everything and make sure that you don’t leave anything behind. After Davening and a delicious Breakfast, we'll take a refreshing swim in the blue waters of the Kinneret. The remainder of the day will be spent hiking in the shade while refreshing ourselves in the beautiful waters of Nachal K’ziv. Here we’ll also explore the famous impressive Monfort Castle and a few caves containing springs and stalactites. Time permitting, we’ll also walk across the famous Keshet cave, a thrilling experience.
Tour B plus ~, Kiyaking, Betzet, Birchat Mishushim,
DAY 1: The day begins Kayaking down the Jordan River. Make sure to hold on tight when you get to the largest rapid at the end. This trip is one of the major attractions of the summer. If you wear glasses, bring along some string to tie them on while going down the river. After Lunch we'll head over to Nachal Betzet for a donkey ride into the valley below. Then we'll head to our beautiful campsite on the shores of the Kinneret where you'll be assigned your air-conditioned rooms for the night. We'll have a delicious cookout on the shores of the Kinneret.
DAY 2: Birchat Mishushim is a very long hike but well worth the effort when you reach the end. One of the Golan Heights' most delightful attractions is the Hexagon pool, which combines magnificent six-sided cliffs with refreshingly chill waters and luxurious foliage. Its unique beauty makes the effort involved in hiking to the pool well worth your while. We'll get a refreshing swim in a magnificent fall. The sight is something spectacular.
Sunday, August 1st
Galil #4
Tour A ~ Rosh Hanikra Nachal BetzetWe’ll start the day by driving along the Mediterranean coast up to Nachal Betzet. Here we’ll spend a few hours walking down a trail which then leads through a beautiful cave. After this we’ll head towards Rosh Hanikrah, the northern most part of Western Israel immediately bordering Lebanon. Here we’ll take the cable car down to the shores of the Mediterranean, where you will enter huge underground tunnels chiseled out of the Rock Mountains. The roar of the waves combines with the seemingly unrealistic beauty of nature. You can’t appreciate it unless you’ve been there. Snap your pictures - make sure you’re in them too.
From here we’ll continue onto the city of Haifa up to the top of the Carmel mountains for a beautiful panoramic view of the Haifa bay and a visit to Me’arat Eliyahu. In the Evening all the tours will meet at the Haifa Bay, where the camp has rented a boat that will take us for a night cruise all along the western coast. As we watch the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea we will enjoy a delicious barbecue on the boat.
Tour B ~ Nachal Zavitan
This day will be spent hiking to the beautiful Zavitan falls. At 25 meters, the Zavitan Waterfall is one of the most breathtaking in the country. Hikers trekking through the stream visit two unique pools lined with hexagonal pillars. You can swim in the racing waters and waterfalls and take shelter in an ancient cave. The trail passes trees laden with ripe figs, grapes and raspberries. The smell of mint is everywhere. Watch for gazelles on the plains all over the area above the Zavitan. It's a most thrilling experience. In the Evening all the tours will meet at the Haifa Bay, where the camp has rented a boat that will take us for a night cruise all along the western coast. As we watch the sun set over the Mediterranean Sea we will enjoy a delicious barbecue on the boat.
Tour B plus ~ Nachal Yehudia
Galil #5
Tour A ~ Zakai ShteyimThis is a beautiful water hike that is absolutely exhilarating and lots of fun. The stream leads straight into the kinneret. The bottom is very rocky and therefore you must be very careful as you take your steps through the water hike. Its long but well worth it. Those wearing glasses remember to tie them up so you don't loose them.
Tour B and B plus ~ Manara Cliff
The Manara Cliff is a beautiful new chair lift ride right outside the city of Kiryat Shmona. The chair lift takes you up to the mountaintop where you will get a most spectacular view of the Golan. There are many hiking trails and biking paths including a repelling cliff. This should be a full day of excitement. We will divide into 3 groups. While group A goes on a hike, group B will go mountain biking and group C will go repelling. We'll rotate the groups so that everyone will have a chance at them all.
Friday, Shabbat, Aug 6th and 7th
Free Weekend
The camp will rent a bus for those wishing to go to Yerushalayim. You must make a reservation for this bus beforehand. The bus will leave at 10:30 AM (9:30 city time) and arrive at Binyanei Ha'umah between 11:00 and 11:30 city time. It will make a second stop, and arrive in Ge'ulah approximately 15 minute later. The bus will also make stops at the major hotels.
Remember to sign out before leaving.
There will be a bus back to camp on Sunday, leaving at 3:00 p.m. from Ho'shea and Yecheskel.
All campers must be back in camp NO LATER than 5:00 P.M. (city time).
Those who have no place to go for the Shabbat are welcome to remain in camp for a lovely relaxing Shabbat. Please make sure to register so that we know who is staying behind.
Tuesday ~ Wednesday, August 10th & 11th
Eilat
The Eilat trip this year will certainly be something special. We’ll be leaving camp at 12:00 midnight and we’ll head straight down to Eilat, making our first stop at Yotvata (6:00 A.M.) where we’ll daven Shacharit and eat breakfast. Then we’ll continue on to our beach in Eilat where a special boat will be waiting for us. We'll board the boat and will remain on the boat for the rest of the day. Remember to bring all your belongings that you might need for the water. If you don’t have your own fins mask or snorkel, bring money to rent them (approximately $10). The boat will take us out to the refreshing blue waters for a swim around the Coral Sea of Eilat. We will be eating lunch on the boat and there will be a constant supply of drinks. Make sure to drink plenty of water even when you don't feel thirsty, so that you don't dehydrate. Also make sure to stay out of the sun, so you don’t get sunstroke.
After a full day of swimming, we will head to our local air-conditioned hospice, where we will have a delicious S'dei Chemed cookout, visit the nearby town, and get some well-deserved sleep.
DAY 2: The next morning we will split into two groups. Those who want to go on a beautiful hike will join group A while those who would like to do some more snorkeling will join group B. Then we’ll go back into the water to get re-acquainted with the multi-colored fish swimming about. We will then visit the Sea Aquarium, where you will see a spectacular coral and fish exhibit. If you want to get their attention, just feed them little pieces of bread and watch them close in on you. At midday we will begin our journey back to camp. This has always been one of the greatest trips of the summer.
Yerushalayim
Tour A ~ YerushalayimThis will be your last opportunity to buy presents to take home with you so we'll leave you plenty of time for your shopping needs. If we left out any other sights in Yerushalayim we’ll do them today.
Tour B ~ Safari, Kotel Tunnels, Yerushalayim
We’ll spend the morning at the safari park in Ramat Gan and then go on to Yerushalayim where we will get a tour through the Kotel tunnels and use the rest of the day shopping in Yerushalayim.
Tour B plus ~ Kfar Hachashmonai
We’ll head to the reconstructed K'far Hachashmonai, (in the Modi'in area). Here we'll have a chance to reenact life as it was in the ancient days (including baking bread in an ancient manner and making ancient pottery.) This is always a memorable experience. The rest of the day we'll have for shopping in Yerusalayim.
Monday, August 16th
Bon Voyage
A great summer is over, and it’s time to say our good-byes to all your newly made friends and all those people who helped make this the most unforgettable and the greatest summer of your life. Personally observe your luggage being loaded onto the bus. We will leave at approximately 12:00 noon and head toward Yerushalayim. Our first stop will be at Har Hamenuchot where the world-renowned Rabbi Moshe Feinstein rests, (as well as many other great Tzaddikim of our generation). From there we will head to the Kotel, to say our final good bye. Our next stop will be Ben Gurion airport where each camper will be given his passport, ticket and boarding pass. If all goes well we will hopefully return to New York as scheduled (6:00 AM, Tuesday, August 17). We hope to see you back next summer!
Wakeup 7:00 AM, followed by Cleanup and Breakfast
The camp will rent a bus for all those wishing to go to Yerushalayim. You must make a reservation for this bus beforehand. The cost will be the same as the Egged bus rates to Yerushalayim (approximately $10 each way). The bus will leave camp at 9:30 AM (camp time) and be in Yerushalayim at 11:00 AM (which is 10:00 AM local city time). The first stop is in front of Binyanei Ha’umah (which is right across from the Central Bus Station). The second stop is in Geulah on the corner of Hosea and Yecheskel Sts. (which is 2 blocks from Kikar HaShabbat). The bus will return at 6:00 PM (city time) from the same stop (Hosea and Yecheskel Sts.) and make its second pickup at the 2nd gas station on the very outskirts of Yerushalayim at 6:15 PM (city time). This bus is arranged for the convenience of our campers. Remember! The purpose of a free day is to give you the opportunity to visit friends and relatives in Israel - NOT to stroll about the streets.
No camper may leave until they have cleaned up their room.
Campers must sign out and sign in with their counselors, leaving a phone number where they can be reached if necessary. Campers with parental permission to go out on their own should exercise caution in where they go. Those with permission to leave only with relatives or friends must wait to be picked up.
Campers must return by 8:00 P.M. Lateness in returning will result in loss of future free days.
For those with no place to go or those campers without permission, we have a special tour bus available to take you for an exciting, fun, and interesting day.
An Important Traveling Tip:
Whenever you travel on your free day using a taxi or sherut, always remember to get a receipt from the driver! This way, if you inadvertently leave anything in the cab we will have a way of tracing it for you. Also, write down the bus number you travel on and note the time of departure. This information can prove very valuable if we ever have to trace a package you left aboard it.
