In order to ensure the security and safety of our campers' money, we are making the following recommendations, which we would like all parents to follow. This system has been set up for the sole benefit of our campers and will avoid the problems of campers losing or having money stolen. Under no circumstances are campers to keep money or valuables in their rooms. A safe is provided for this purpose! Parents need make out only ONE check to Sdei Chemed and mark on the check the amount you wish to have deposited in your child's trip money account. We have found that this method works far better than using regular travelers checks, which boys have trouble cashing. Unused money will be returned at the end of the summer.

TRIP MONEY

Although camp pays for all trip entrance fees there are other expenses that campers must pay for. Trip money refers to your child's personal spending money used to buy presents, soda, candy, ice cream, taxi or bus fare on free days, and for extra water activities, snorkeling equipment in Eilat. This can add up to quite a bit and therefore we suggest an amount no less than - $300. This money will be entered into his TRIP MONEY ACCOUNT otherwise known as the CAMP BANK.

CAMP BANK

The CAMP BANK is open during breakfast time on all trip days. During those times you should take out the money you will need until the next banking day. It is important for you to try and anticipate your monetary needs a few days in advance. There will be a suggested amount given on each bank day. Money not used should be re-deposited in the evening for safekeeping. Never keep money in your room. We talk from experience! It is up to you to budget your money wisely. Remember, there's always a tomorrow!

PLEASE NOTE: All monies withdrawn are given in Israeli currency at the bank exchange rate of that day. If you wish to withdraw money in American cash, then you should NOT deposit your money into the camp bank but rather into the Camp Safe.
