At S'dei Chemed we choose our staff
very carefully: We hire people who love kids and know how to support kids to
have terrific time and feel great about themselves. Our counselors are known for
their sensitivity and their caring.
To be hired,
our staff must have a current Bronze Medallion Lifesaving award (or U.S.
equivalent) and current first aid qualifications (or pull.
A camp, like any
other institution, is only as good as its people. Our counselors, many of whom
are former S'dei Chemed campers, are chosen with the utmost care through
personal interviews and extensive reference checking. All are of 20 years age or
older, and many return for years on end. We select a congenial, fun-loving group
of counselors and ancillary staff, but mature and dedicated leadership remains
the top priority. Each year, we spends a great deal more time and expense on
counselor recruitment than on camper promotions!
