Camp S’dei Chemed Bar-Mitzvah Pilgrimage:
The
Bar Mitzvah comes and goes and what really changes? How
different does the bachur really feel? He got a suit, he
wears a hat, he is obligated to all the Mitzvot, he puts on
Tefillin every day, but the day after the party is just
another day.
It doesn’t have to be that way, Camp S’dei Chemed Boys is
providing a Bar Mitzvah opportunity of a life time that is
going to prepare Bar Mitzvah boys in a way so that the day
after the party will not be ‘just another day’.
This summer we are offering a Bar Mitzvah special, inviting
pre Bar Mitzvah boys on an unforgettable mystical journey
into the secrets and mysteries of Tefillin, one of the three
Mitzvot from the Torah that is called a sign between Hashem
and Klal Yisroel (Shabbos and Bris Milah are the other two).
The boys are going to have the opportunity to learn about
making Tefillin; the process of pressing and forming the
leather into the perfectly square boxes by means of stepping
back into time and exploring some of the most secret nooks
and crannies of one of the oldest know crafts and watching
the process that has been passed down from generation to
generation. We will be meeting the craftsmen, experience
their creation while it’s being created and we will be
making an everlasting relationship that is going to bring
the boys into their Bar Mitzvah and change their lives
forever.
That is where most tours usually end, you come and you see
and you wish you could get more involved and are not allowed
but Camp S’dei Chemed wants the best for its boys. The
field trip is only where the experience begins because then
it’s time to roll up our sleeves and get our hands dirty and
see how much we actually learned. The boys are going to set
up shop and learn how to paint a pair of Tefillin and as a
grand conclusion they will be assisting in the assembly of a
pair of Tefillin that will be taken home with them and worn
at their Bar Mitzvah.
The day after the party will not be ‘just another day’ it
will be the climax of a long awaited reunion of a heavily
invested relationship; it will be a feeling of true
transformation into a Bar Mitzvah.
We have reduced the price for pre-bar-mitzvah age boys to
the first applicants.
Camp also offers a special price for Bar Mitzvah Age Boys
(12-13). Our present to you!
